Daily Show Interview
Moscow Watcher came to more widespread attention in 2014, when she was interviewed as part of a Daily Show segment on Russia's anti-gay legislation. Her comments were widely shared, as a video and as gifs. She notably quoted a line from Angel to explain why she was protesting against the laws.[1]
I want to look at the eyes of my children and grandchildren and say that I did all I could. There’s a wonderful phrase from an American TV show called “Angel”, “if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.”
See Whedonesque thread about the segment, and Moscow's response, here. Another thread and another response by Moscow at Buffy-Boards.com, here.
