HerCaptain was a women-only Voyager femslash mailing list that could only be joined by invitation. The mailing list had the subtitle "f/f creativity at it's best".
This is a restricted mailing list for women who enjoy all the variety that the television world has to offer with an emphasis on subtext and fan fiction dealing with love and romance between women.
Hercaptain originally started out as a Star Trek Voyager fan list, but we have since expanded tremendously. We now enjoy such topics as any of the Star Trek genres,Xena: Warrior Princess, Stargate, X-Files, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and even more. Most importantly, we are a community. We laugh and cry together. We rejoice in each other's life stories. There's no such thing as Off Topic on this list. All we ask for is a descriptive subject line.

The associated website said about the list: "The women of HerCaptain are fountains of creativity, and it all comes out on our mail list. Our main staple is fan-fiction, but we also put out all manner of art, such as music, painting, drawing and computer graphics.
