Gypsy Silverleaf is the first known Harry Potter fan writer and archivist. Gypsy's story, Harry Potter and the Man of Unknown, was the first Harry Potter story posted to FanFiction.net, in September 1999.[3] Gypsy also started the fansite Harry Potter's Realm of Wizardry in July 1999, which may have been the first Harry Potter archive,[4] and was an initial member of Defense Against the Dark Arts, a fan group partnered PotterWar, in 2001.[2]

Gypsy was originally known as GirlieHawke in Animorphs fandom, and chose Gypsy Raven as her Harry Potter pseud in 1999. In 2001, she shortened it to Gypsy, and in 2003 added "Silverleaf."[5]

Three days later, I got an E-mail from him telling me to post my story or he'd delete the section. I have been in this fandom far too long. *g*" -- August 31, 2003, August 31, 2003
