Gold Tinted Spectacles is a Harry Potter fanfiction novel by Beren. It is considered a classic both as a Harry/Draco fic as well as a bonding fic. Originally published serially online in 2003, the author posted a revised version in February 2004. This version was later published as a print zine novel by Fidelius Press. The print zine had cover art by TACS and black and white interior art.

Summaries

Publisher's Summary: "In the wizarding world, where nothing is ever as it seems, what if there was more to Draco Malfoy than met the eye? What if Harry Potter was even more extraordinary than anyone dreamed? What if the two of them together were the greatest hope of the wizarding world? A warm romance and a wild adventure."

Author's Summary: "Harry is about to enter his seventh year, and things are not quite what he expected. He is no longer the angry boy who watched his world fall apart at the end of his fifth year, but neither has he completely found his place yet. He is looking for something, and to his confusion it seems to have something to do with Draco Malfoy."

As a H/D Internet "Classic"

The novel has been mentioned on various Harry/Draco reclists[1], and according to a 2007 poll was one of the top 25 most-read H/D fics.[2] Of course, with the with the size and scope of the Harry Potter fandom, there is hardly a consensus on what can be considered a "classic" in any genre, and indeed there have been mixed reviews[3] by fans.

The novel prompted a fan-created fanlisting called Hectamus specifically for the novel.[4]
