Fujo artists have found KGB. We’re gonna make it is the title to a post on Reddit made by Half_Price_Life for the Kagurabachi fandom. The post does not have a caption, instead only containing a screenshot from Twitter of fanart made by doujinka aoshiro_bee. The fanart is for the dynamic between Ikuto Hagiwara and Kugara should they be shipped together to form Kugura/Ikuto Hagiwara (where Kugura is the attacker in the fixed coupling). Half_Price_Life says that because Fujoshi have found the new fandom (which had only been around four months old by January 2024), the fandom had "made it" and would have consistent fanac from then on out (though time has yet to test this) on websites such as Pixiv and Twitter. The fanart was not the first M/M, Slash, Yaoi and/or BL fanwork for the series, but it was likely one of the first.

The next day, danhengussy on Twitter would tweet screenshots from the Reddit post with the caption Kagurabachi fans are the first shounen dudebros to be happy to see fujoshis making art for their series. This tweet quickly became popular site-wide, with 190 comments, 12,000+ retweets, 50,000+ likes and 4.8 million views just four days after it was first tweeted. Much of this attention was from fans unfamiliar with Kagurabachi, and some fannish drift can be seen since the original fanart escaped containment.

In Shōnen manga circles, Kagurabachi is considered somewhat of a joke. The author, Takeru Hokazono, is not an established mangaka, and the series was not immediately a hit with readers. Many fans fear that it'll be "axed," and there's a likely possibility that this acceptance of Fujoshi is temporary and that Male fans will dislike them if the manga becomes an established part of Shonen Jump. Still, this acceptance is very uncommon in anime and manga fandom and may be a sign that attitude towards women in shonen circles is improving, particularly on Reddit and Twitter.

[aoshiro]

The combination of these two is very good! I'm very happy that there are surprisingly many people who like it.🥰✨ thank you!😊[1]

[autumn---sky]
I thought I would be the only one who thought about this couple. 👁️👁️🔥💕 Thank you so much for drawing them together! 💗
[aoshiro]

I was impressed that there were people with the same hobbies...!✨ These two are so good! Thank you very much for your kind words!😊🙏✨[2]

We are now a true fandom[6]

[Sphealer]
W gay people
[HoaFaFa]

Ngl, a fandom without fujo arts is a flop fandom.

[OneDumbBoi]

W pervert women

[Number1SunsHater]

They’re really the lifeblood of most anime/manga fanbases tbh

[steamtrekker]

Only the ones that have a lot of male characters.

[Number1SunsHater]

You underestimate their horniness.
They can be just as weird about girls as they are about guys.

[steamtrekker]

Really? I don't think I've ever seen this.

[Mentine_]

Most fujo people are actually queer people (very interesting btw, like once someone made a tweet that went on every m/m fandom and they asked to say their identity and yep, nearly nobody was fully cis or straight lol it was so funny)

[HoaFaFa]

Try Quanxi in CSM i think. Fujos in my circle are pretty insane over her. But she's a special case tbh. [7]

so funny, UxU and Saka Days are in turmoil over this and KGB is like “yes yes more”[8]

im just surprised it wasn't azami and shiba[9]

I kneel to the fujoshi, they can unironically keep a series alive just on the fujo-bait characters alone, it happened with Hitman Reborn[10]

never read kagurabachi and just got this recommended to me. thought yall were excited about people shipping soviet union agents for a minute[11]

Kagurabachi has received the fujoshi blessing We've made it y'all. Fuck all the TOC rankings and volume sales, THIS is the true sign of success.[12]

gonna get into kagurabachi just so i can satisfy my fujo savior complex[13]

"fandom without fujo arts is a flop fandom" they're right and they should say it[14]

Dont let powerscalers[15] start scaling their fandom’s respective fujo legacy now[16]

this is what all small fandoms are like before they get popular 🙏 fujos got the original star trek popular and avoided it from getting cancelled. now the dudebros call us delusional... your lifeblood belongs to me.[17]

[Prof. Ramses]
Yaoi and fan pairings are the canary in the mine for me when it comes to fandom. If there isn't one at every step, you have a problem
[Severa929]

If there aren't any fan pairings or fujoshi in the fandom it means none of the characters in the story have any chemistry with each other whether it be friends or otherwise.[18]

[APonom80968]
I don't know what word fujoshis means, but if it has such a good quality and it helps kagurabachi get popular, then I'm happy about it😃
[wordsvomit_]

Fujoshi are women who likes to see men being gay.

[APonom80968]

Thanks, I learned something new today 👍[19]

This is me with black clover, I could not get into it and I tried finding yaoi with Asta x Yuno but couldn’t find any decent art 🥲😂[20]

Bachibro is a gender neutral term. As long as you're not a creep about Char, you're welcome to the Bachifam.[21]

No think about it would mha and jjk be half as popular as they are now without fujoshis... I dont think so
[yangyuniie]

@HonkaiImpact3rd[22]

There's still long way to go Kagurabachi bros[23]

[Included is a screenshot of Archive of Our Own showing only 33 fanworks for Kagurabachi]

Shounen community not throwing a fit over LGBTQ activity? Kagurabachi fans you've won me over.[24]

[VHKAneweer]
I wish FK fans were like this lmao
[Horrorbo]

you serve us well zinny 😔 where would the fk fans be without you

[Lundinstrom_AD]

its crazy how bad the fk stans wanna be Dude Bro Realness when like...90% of the fan art isn't made by the Dude Bros lmao they'd have next to nothing if it was[25]

the way this is literally how house md became famous on the internet again[26]

Star Trek was saved by housewives in the 60s who created and wrote omegaverse spirk stories[27] like if your favorite content doesn't have at least 1 queer ship I'm sorry you and your series are doomed[28]

And you know what, not being dicks about women being in their fandom made me look up a Jump title with some interest for the first time in years.[29]

This reminds me of when someone said they cheered when they saw their favorite anime fanfic count’s rising on AO3 because that means it made it 😭😭[30]

Already did my part by writing the first 10k+ word Kagurabachi fanfic and yes, it's gay 🫡 The rest is up to fate[31]

if the strength of a fandom is judged by the number of fujoshis then Kamen Rider is the strongest fandom ever[32]

First we get dudebros talking about satosugu omegaverse and now this

World is healing???[33]

Fujo support is the lifeblood that stops you getting cancelled.

Kagurabachihive is full of old heads who have seen potential faves get cancelled before

If the Fujos found Black Torch in time maybe that series could have survived.[34]

this is such a momentous shift in weeb opinion wrt fujoshi. i remember very clearly when fujoshi were called whales and other misogynist names, and hated it when they were catered to

as for me i must now read to find out what's happening, either these fujos are shipping any two male species or i see something

like just to put it into context why free iwatobi swim club was as notorious as it was and how people reacted to it, from 4chan's /a/ board no less. popular youtuber at the time gigguk deleted his shit re: free but there's reuploads of him likening fujoshi to whales

[Linked is an image with the caption: 26/4/13 THE DAY /a/ DROWNED IN TEARS[35]]

[JohnXuandou]
When all else fails, the only hope to stave off total destruction is to rely on the power of fujoshi.
[SquidRadio]

Tomino said it best: when the chips are down, the merch kids aren't gonna stick by you. The fujoshi are ride or die, you got them you got the world.[36]

fujo things aside, fan creators (writer, fanartist, editor) are what makes your fandom alive. they give so much for the community.

shout out to my fav author who writes for the same fandom and the same ship for 20 years even after the series ended!!!!! 🩵🩵🩵[37]
