Fading into Beautiful Light is a Steve/Danny story by shinysylver.

Summary: When Rachel is killed Steve has his work cut out for him trying to hold Danny and Grace together. He may be the only one who really understands Grace’s pain but between Danny taking his own anger out on Steve and all of the unresolved feelings between the two of them nothing is easy.

Written for the h50_bigbang This story follows canon through episode 1.23 but diverges from there. The finale did not happen. The title is from the song “Everybody’s Changing” by Keane. Why we love it: This is a very well written and sensitively handled story. It explores the impact of loss on the characters in a way that is both authentic and beautiful. The relationship that develops between Steve and Grace has a depth to it that makes this story more than worth your time. Despite the fact that it is about loss, it is also ultimately about living on and thriving after loss. A fine read that we cannot recommend highly enough.
