Faction Paradox, also known as The Faction, are a group within the Doctor Who Expanded Universe (and perhaps beyond) who first appeared in the Eighth Doctor Adventures novel Alien Bodies in 1997.
They've since featured in several of their own series, including audios by BBV and Magic Bullet and books by Mad Norwegian Press and Obverse Books.
Canon
Members of Faction Paradox use family names such as 'Father', 'Mother', 'Brother', 'Sister', and 'Cousin'. People within Faction Paradox are referred to as either members or agents.
The Faction reside within the Eleven Day Empire, a period of eleven days (3rd - 13th September 1752) that were removed during England's change to the Gregorian calender.

Fan Theories
Fan theories are fairly common in the fandom, often involving theorising about how either historical figures or fictional characters, most often other Doctor Who characters, are actually Faction Paradox agents. These have included:
- Orson Pink, initially implied in canon to be a descendant of Danny Pink and Clara Oswald until the former's death, has been theorised by some to be the person driving the car Danny is knocked down by as an initiation into the Faction.

- Historical - Common headcanons involve historical figures secretly being members of the Faction.
