Kode was a version of Fitz created through several generations of replica creations based on the memories of the people who knew him. His name came from a nickname: Code-Boy. Upon meeting back up with Eight, The Doctor offers to use the TARDIS to give his memories of the original Fitz back through recreating the original Fitz via the memories of both The Doctor and the TARDIS.
