Exiled Robins is a fanfiction series by Cdelphiki in Batman fandom, focused on Damian Wayne and Tim Drake. The main story is Life Happens and the other stories in the series are companion pieces. Life Happens is complete, but the series is a WIP.

Stories in the Series

  • Life Happens Summary: While walking home from an event at Wayne Enterprises, Tim and Damian are kidnapped and sent to an alternate dimension. In a world where superheroes are merely comic book characters and the idea of the multiverse is only a theory found within the pages of science fiction, how are Tim and Damian going to return home? How long will they be stranded on this strange Earth? And will the boys murder each other before they figure it out? Main Story
  • Tea Summary: Tim and Damian have been trapped in this alternate universe for a month and a half, and Damian is hating every second of it. If only Drake weren't such an insufferable pest, ordering him around as if he were an adult and Damian a mere child. Where did the teen get off acting like that? This is a one-shot that accompanies Life Happens.
  • An Imbecile and Pneumonia Summary: Tim and Damian have been stranded in this stupid world for a year an a half. It really hasn't been that bad. Not entirely. Lately, Damian has been kind of enjoying himself. But then stupid Tim decided to be an idiot and ignore a cough for over a month. That's how the imbecile landed himself in the hospital. Now Damian has to deal with the fact that his only living relative was dying. This is a short story that accompanies Life Happens. It takes place during Chapter 19: Eighteen Months
  • No Goodbye Lasts Forever Summary: It's been a day since Tim Drake said goodbye to his little brother 'forever.' A whole day, and somehow that little brat is standing outside his apartment door. Tim is more than slightly confused. This is a one-shot that accompanies Life Happens. It takes place between the final chapter and the epilogue.
  • As Life Happens Summary: A series of one-shots centered around the Batfamily in the Life Happens AU. Don't think too hard about the timeline. Some of these will just be for fun. 1. Bristol runs away, and Bruce is there to catch her and set her straight. 2. Damian hurts himself and Tim overreacts.
  • Like Father Like Sons Summary: His entire life, Jason feared he would one day become his dad. A good-for-nothing criminal who beat on his family and ran off when he was needed most. An abusive loser, insignificant and deservingly unloved. And there for a while, he thought he had become his dad. But then he found an orphan in crime alley, and it hit him. He was like his dad. Just not the one he feared being like.
  • Like It Never Even Happened Summary: Not even four years into their stranding in another world, Tim and Damian are suddenly transported back to the moments before their initial kidnapping. How will their family react to their sudden close relationship? Will anyone believe they've been stranded for so long? Alternate ending to Life Happens. Diverges from chapter 23.

The "Exiled Robins" series by Cdelphiki... it digs your heart out with a spoon, then eats it.

SECONDED Exiled Robins is so far the only fic ive read that has actually managed to make me cry :')[1]
This is an amazing series. Well written and even though the circumstances give it a very AU feeling, it never strays far from its origin in the DC Universe. There are a few OCs and one of the main characters develops of relationship with an OC, but as the emphasis is on the relationships between the Batfam (especially Damian and Tim, and to a lesser extent later, Jason), they don’t overshadow the story.[2]

This was the first fic of cdelphiki’s that I read and I was hooked (everything she’s written is amazing but this gets all my special love because it was the first). It’s a long fic about Tim and Damian getting sent to another dimension and it’s full of brotherly bonding and is just all around amazing.[3]

ANON LISTEN I PLOUGHED THROUGH THAT AND WAS SO EMOTIONAL I’M STILL PROCESSING????? LITERALLY CANNOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT WITHOUT BEING RIPPED STRAIGHT DOWN MY RIBCAGE, SO GOOD SO PAINFUL SO GOOD[4]

For Life Happens

another wonderful story by Cdelphiki #serotoninburst[5]

oh my GOD this fic. This fucking fic. It messed me up in a really good way. This fic has zero vigilantism in it, it’s just Tim and Damian figuring out their new life in a world where superheroes are only found in comic books. It has fluff, it has angst, it has hurt/comfort, it has everything. Tim and Damian’s relationship in this is just amazing. Their growth is realistic and paced out, and I just…ugh just thinking about this fic makes me emotional. Y'all know the tag Dick Grayson is Damian Wayne’s Parent? Yeah, get ready for Tim Drake is Damian Wayne’s Parent. Good. Shit.[6]

Hoo-boy, folks. I don’t even know where to start with this Fic. I honestly get teary-eyed thinking about how beautiful it is and how much I loved this one. My favorite Tim Drake and Damian Wayne brotherly bonding Fic EVER. I would almost describe this Fic as a love letter to the characters Tim and Damian, in the sense that the author captures their characterizations beautifully and tells one of the best stories of growth and familial love I have ever read. It’s fluffy, angsty, humorous, and full of BatFamily feels. And don’t worry, there is plenty of Dick, Jason, and Bruce as well (If not a little later in the story). I would run to this Fic, if I were you.[7]

Honestly, I have not been able to stop thinking about this fic ever since I read it. It (and the rest of the series, which is not completed) is so mindblowingly good in its ability to convince you that the characters are real people.

Some (superhero) things that I really enjoyed about this fic include:

Superheroes watching their own movies.

Superheroes identities being found out.

Authors taking advantage of the limitless possibilities of the multiverse in DCU.

Superheroes ending up in a setting without heroes.

Superheroes trying to adapt to civilian life.

I would say that it is mostly gen and brotherly bonding, although there is some (het) relationships which mostly take a back burner. This, necessarily, involves some OCS, which are in no way obnoxious and are actually really necessary to the story. The OCs are never the focus.

Would 10/10 recommend.[8]

This fic (and series) is just so good I legit cannot stop thinking about it. Although there is a slight het relationship that develops, it is mostly about sibling bonding when one sibling has to step up and take care of another. Would 10/10 recommend.

It's DCU, the primary relationship is platonic & is Damian Wayne & Tim Drake.

I legit love love love love this fic. It would make me so happy if you guys do too![9]

They just write Damian and Tim bonding soooo well, something there is a definite lack of, I feel. Their story, Life Happens, really was always a bright spot in my day too. Summer was kinda tough... and their fic always made my day better. I was traveling a lot between cities as well, so to have something to make my day less stressful was always amazing![10]

oh my gosh, I sobbed. Tim suddenly went from being a character I just knew to a character I loved and his brother relationship with Damian was once I went head over heels for.[11]

Ever read that one fanfiction that genuinely destroyed you so much that you can feel it in your chest? My heart hurts. I’ve seriously cried, and I’m reminded why don’t read fics where characters are teleported to alternate dimensions. Anyway, if you like DC and want to be torn apart to the depths of your very soul please read Life Happens by @cdelphiki. I’m sad. 10/4 bats. Destroyed my life and enjoyed every second of it.[12]

Speaking of which, Life Happens destroyed me and then put me back together and it’s been on my mind almost everyday since I finished reading it a couple weeks ago! I just can’t stop thinking about the character growth of Tim&Dami. Tim especially, becoming a parent… Jeez… I wish I could put the feels into words but like, it’s just so overwhelming I can’t. And of course, like many others have said, the phrase “You’re my favorite” has forever been changed![13]

This one will make you ugly cry. Tim and Dami get transported into our world where superheroes are just comic book characters. Tim has to take care of himself and Damian with no resources and 😭 I don’t wanna spoil anything but you will weep. It’s so good[14]
