Did You Know That Even With Seat Belts People Die All the Time in Car Crashes? I Thought That Was Interesting is a redraw meme. Fanartists, cosplayers and/or photomanip editors parody the 20th page of the eighth chapter of the widely known, popular Sonic the Hedgehog fancomic Tails Gets Trolled. The comic began in 2011 and is still ongoing as of 2024.
In the panel, Tom from Tom and Jerry is in the backseat of a car driven by Porky Pig. Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote and Elmer Fudd are also in the car with him. In the previous panels, there was a gruesome fight scene (one of many in the series,) and the group are going to a bar explicitly to get wasted. Tom says the "interesting" fact about car crashes to pass the time.
While this particular meme is not the most memed part about the fancomic, (by a long shot,) it is one of the most redrawn. It is widely applicable to many existing characters and is well regarded for being hilarious out of context.
