Deslea is most known for writing The X-Files fanfiction, particularly Marita Covarrubias/Alex Krycek stories and stories focusing on the ambiguous characters of the series, like Diana Fowley, Jeffrey Spender, or Knowle Rohrer. Her fanfiction often heavily featured X-Files mythology.

She was also one of the founders of the Harem Of X Files Other Women Defenders, a mailing list dedicated to the secondary female characters of The X-Files.

One of her earlier stories, Not My Lover, explored the backstories of Marita Covarrubias and Alex Krycek. She won numerous awards for her fanfiction, too many to list here.

In the later years of X Files fandom, Deslea coordinated the Thank You Annabeth and Thank You Chris Carter projects, and was a contributor of a commissioned Annabeth Gish themed artwork to the X-Files official site.

She also started a virtual series called X Files: VCU that brought the cast together eighteen months after the series finale. An elaborate plot re-cast the television series as an undercover sting operation - as a result, antagonists such as Krycek and Mulder, and Doggett and Follmer were forced to work together in a world after an averted colonisation.

Deslea also secured an interview with X Files writer Frank Spotnitz in 2002 to discuss the backstory of Alex Krycek and Marita Covarrubias, which had long been alluded to, but abandoned due to actor scheduling issues. [1]

Deslea disappeared from fandom for some years, but reappeared in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fandom in 2008, where she was active as a writer of fanfiction and a vidder. In that fandom, her key interest was the pairing between Sarah Connor and Derek Reese. Her music videos in TSCC were recognised with several awards.

In 2011, Deslea became more active in Harry Potter fandom, a fandom she had written and vidded sporadically for in the past. Her key interests in that fandom were Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, Severus Snape, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, Nymphadora Tonks and Hermione Granger.

In 2013 she re-entered the fanart world and added digital painting and 3D work to her portfolio, creating illustrated editions of many of her stories.
