Celeste x Yamada, most known as Yamaceles and/or Yamasere, is a rarepair within Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Celestia Ludenberg and Hifumi Yamada.
Although this is the most canonical relationship for both students, Yamada's unpopularity and Celeste's abuse of his naïveté throughout the game leads to the pairing being generally disliked. In a poll with 77 respondents on Tumblr, asking "opinions on hifumi x celestia?", the jokingly-phrased option "BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!!!" was the highest-picked response with 48% of the vote[1].
Common Tropes
- Okatus Attract: Both Celeste and Yamada love media such as anime and manga, though Celeste does not like admitting it.
- Dom/Sub: Celeste is far more dominant than Yamada in the relationship.
- Murderer x Victim: A trope specific to Dangan Ronpa fandom. Celeste killed Yamada. Fanworks for this pairing may be canon divergence to prevent this from happening.
