I think we need subcategories for TOS zines:

  • [[Category:Star Trek TOS Non-Fiction Zines]]
  • [[Category:Star Trek TOS Fiction Zines]]
  • [[Category:Star Trek TOS Slash Zines]]

Or even more subcategories. --Doro 16:25, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable. Should Slash Zines be a subcategory of Fiction Zines? Also, what kinds of zines will not be either fiction or non-fiction? Calendars? Zines that contain both fiction and non-fiction? Something else?--æthel 01:43, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
There are a bunch of zines where it is not clear whether the content is fiction or non-fiction, so I imagine those would be put in neither. There could be an additional category for "club zines" however I think, because IIRC a good number of the ones with unclear content were fanclub publications? If we wanted even more subcategories I'd propose newsletters and a category for canon references (technical manuals, casting list etc).--RatCreature 07:44, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
To be honest, I wanted Category:Star Trek TOS Fiction Zines for the gen and het zines but the category name isn't intuitive. Hmm. Sticking closer to the sections of the Star Trek: The Original Series/Fanzines list I would suggest:
Category:Star Trek TOS Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Non-Fiction Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Gen and Het Anthology Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Gen and Het Novel Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Slash Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Actor-centric Zines
Comic and Cartoon zines, e-zines, zines still lacking data and maybe filk zines and calendars could be just "Star Trek TOS Zines". Although if there are enough zines for a "Category:Star Trek TOS Club Zines", then that might be a good idea for a subcategory as well. --Doro 11:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I added these:
Category:Star Trek TOS Non-Fiction Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Gen and Het Anthology Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Gen and Het Novel Zines
Category:Star Trek TOS Slash Zines
but when you say actor-centric, do you mean character-centric, or are these multimedia zines?--æthel 17:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Yay, thanks! \o/ The zine list I linked above has a section for actor-centric zines. For example DeForest Kelley Compendium, Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans Yearbook, etc. These zines seem to be about the actors, not the characters, and it looks like there might be enough of them to justify a subcategory. --Doro 18:01, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Category created. Meanwhile, I found one DS9 actor-centric zine: Plain and Simple (Andy Robinson newsletter). Are there enough to justify a general Star Trek Actor-centric Zines category?--æthel 21:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
There are a few for TNG actors as well, like Patrick Stewart Credit List, Patrick Stewart Coloring Book, Spinerisms.--RatCreature 21:58, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
