Canis Major is a Harry Potter Yahoo! Groups mailing list for the Harry/Sirius pairing. It previously had an associated archive, which became part of the ETC Archive (now defunct).
As of July 2014, the group had 2,345 members. The group received the most (non-spam) activity in the first month of its creation, February 2002, when it received 334 messages. The group is currently not moderated, and since 2008 has become overrun with spam.
Group Description
Welcome to Canis Major, hideout for Sirius/Harry shippers and interested bystanders. The Sirius/Harry pairing means this group is SLASH, as in m/m content. Members are welcome to post and use the polls, files, and photos sections, but please respect your listsibs by keeping OT posts to a minimum. Participation in the form of fics, art, and discussion is encouraged but not required.Please note that this is an adult group, and therefore we do not accept members under 18.[1]
Archive
The mailing list originally had its own archive on GeoCities.[2] In November 2003, the ETC Archive was created, merging the archives for the three lists run by Maeglin Yedi and Nimori: Canis Major, Beloved Enemies, and After Class.
