Barbara Gordon/Kara Zor-El is a pairing of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle) and Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) in the DCU.
Canon
Kara and Barbara first met in the Silver Age of comics where they were quick to forge a strong friendship, even if they didn’t learn each other’s secret identities until several years. Barbara delivered the eulogy at Supergirl's funeral which was seen worldwide, stating that Kara “was often her confidante and always her friend”. In the rebooted universe, young Barbara had a blonde imaginary friend and dreamed with being a super-hero named “Supergirl”.[1]
Fandom
Barbara/Kara is a rare pair in the DC Comics fandom. A page from Batgirl Adventures[2] became somewhat infamous within femslash comic communities for both hinting at Harley/Ivy and acknowledging some fans perspective on Barbara/Kara.
New fans started shipping Kara/Barbara in DC Super Hero Girls[3].
