Camus x Milo is a yaoi juggernaut pairing between Aquarius Camus and Scorpio Milo from Saint Seiya. From the beginning, this has been the most popular ship in the fandom. There are nearly 500 fanfics on AO3 tagged as Aquarius Camus/Scorpio Milo. The next most popular ship has nearly 200 fanfics. Those who don't ship them romantically, still think they're a good brotp.
The ship won the award of most popular Milo ship in the Milo Ship Fest for four years in a row.
Canon
They're presented as friends during the Sanctuary Arc. They don't have any scenes together but Milo refers to Camus as his friend. In the Hades saga, Milo fights Camus, who is now fighting for Hades. Milo cries as he chokes Camus, believing that he's betrayed Athena and is now a traitor.
They fight again in the spin-off "Soul of Gold".
Fandom and Themes
- Fluff, Milo is usually depicted more outgoing and charming, while Camus is reserved and quiet. Stories where Camus shows his soft side only to him are common.
- Angst, they have a few sad scenes together in canon and that inspires people to create their own angst.
- Kids, where they're drawn or written as kids, meeting each other or just playing and training together.
- Resurrection, canon divergences where they're both resurrected after the manga ends.
- Smut, in the Japanese fandom, Milo is usually the top and Camus the bottom. In the western fandom there isn't a clear preference of one over the other, although in the French fandom, top Camus is more common.
- Domesticity, they're often depicted as a family, with Hyoga and Isaak being their adopted kids.
Because each Gold Saint is representing a star sign, people tend to use the personality traits associated to each star sign as headcanons. Even though it was never suggested in canon that Milo is jealous or controlling, jealousy is commonplace in Camilo works.
