AZ is a character from Pokémon X and Y. He is a mysterious man who's said to be over 3,000 years old. He created the "ultimate weapon," a large monument that can both make living beings immortal and destroy parts of the Earth.
Originally introduced in 2013, in 2025, he received a redesign and a starring role in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This redesign was popular with fans, making him more popular in turn.
