Subjects of Fannish Interest & Meta
The ship came about pre-Pokémon Legends: Z-A release and comes from pairing AZ, a major character in the game, with Volo, who's often immortal in fanworks.
-Shipping Name Origin
"ImmortalShipping" was coined by Dotted_Clouds on 24 March 2024.[1] This is not considered their "official" name on the Neverending Romance ship name list, however, considered the masterlist for all Pokémon ships ever conceived. This both because, as of writing this on 17 March 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z-A has yet to release, and because ImmortalShipping is already the ship name for AZ/Diantha, a very rare pairing with little-to-no fan activity.
