Weiss Schnee is a protagonist of the RWBY series.

Weiss Schnee is both a former student of Beacon Academy and former heiress of the Schnee Dust Company. She is currently a member of team RWBY along with Ruby Rose, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long.

Weiss was the second character introduced through RWBY's debut trailers. The initial impression of Weiss was that she would be a withdrawn, shy, princess type of character and possibly act tsundere towards Ruby. However, this was later debunked in Volume 1 where Weiss is a spoiled sociality who instantly clashes with Ruby.
After Volume 5 fans began to become frustrated over that fact that Weiss had technically never been shown to win a one-on-one fight with a person.[1] This was further compounded when she lost against Mitsuru Kirijo in Death Battle!. The fandom was excited when she beat Marrow in Volume 7, which was picked on by the animators themselves.[2]
Common Tropes and Fanon
- Tsundere: After her character trailer was released many fans believed Weiss would be a tsundere type. This ended up being somewhat correct.
- Blind: Weiss actual being blinded in the eye she received her scar on.
- Useless Lesbian: A riff on a popular Tumblr post, Tiffany you useless lesbian, the joke has since been used by the fandom in posts and fanworks where she fails to confess or kiss the other girls in the show.[3]
- Suffering Weiss: a tropes coined by the Bumbleby fandom to show Weiss being a third-wheel while around Blake and Yang.
Shipping
Weiss's most popular ship is with her partner Ruby and the two have been shipped together since their characters trailers were first released in 2013. Between volumes 1 to 3 the other notable ships with Weiss included Weiss/Blake, Weiss/Yang and Weiss/Jaune. Weiss/Yang become more popular around volume 5 when the two were first reunited.
