Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1

[Last of the Black Phantoms]: Jeff is one of the rarest of all beasts - a MAN WHO WRITES FANFIC. And write it well (and in abundance) he does. His depictions of the "Real Ghostbusters" universe are among those most true to canon. This particularly story is especially worthy both for its well-reseached, historically accurate details, as well as giving play to probably the least served of the four RGBs, Winston Zeddemore. This wonderful story was nominated for a Fan-Q award (honoring excellence in printed fanzines) when it first appeared in "We Got One #1" in the mid-90's. [1]

[zine]:

Dee Beetem's Bull Session is a giggle fit, if you know fan culture.

Verdict: quite entertaining, a good buy. [2]

Issue 2

cover of issue #2, Deb Walsh

We Got One! 2 contains 190 pages and was published in 1996. Deb Walsh is the front cover artist. Susie M and Joy Riddle are other artists. It has the subtitle, "We Got Another One!"

Reactions and Reviews: Issue 2

[Boo Hoo]: Wow, we feature some pretty heavy themes here in RGB-land, don't we? So maybe it's time to lighten things up a bit, take a little break from all the angst and pain and tears. Or, if not quite a BREAK... a satire. [3]

[zine]:

Liz Vogel's Memoria Non Grata is a favorite piece of dark RGB fic at a little under three pages. If you like dark stories, this one is a small gem. Mary Robertson's Blood Brothers is also serious; it uses European folklore very well in a delightful Ray-centric story.

Verdict: Uneven. There was also a very long story that I felt could have been spun off into a stand-alone novella with more editing. More for the hurt/comfort fans, I think. [4]

We Got One! 3 was published in 1998. Joy Riddle is the front cover artist. It has the subtitle, "Third Time’s the Charm," and contains 180 pages.
