Wang Yibo is a Chinese actor, dancer, and singer, born 5 August 1997. He is best known to fandom as the maknae (youngest member) of the Chinese/Korean boy band UNIQ and for co-starring in The Untamed (called in Chinese Chén Qíng Lìng), the live-action version of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
On social media, his name is commonly abbreviated as WYB. His fans are nicknamed mtjj (motor jiejie, "older sister") or mtgg (motor gege, "older brother")[1] due to his love of motorcycles.
Since his international popularity grew after The Untamed - in addition to the spread of K-pop - his fandom shares updates and photos/videos of him as a brand ambassador for many international brands in China (especially fashion brands like Chanel), a captain on Street Dance China Seasons 3 and onward, and (since 2023) in lead roles for internationally-released movies.
Tropes and Shipping
The most popular Wang Yibo ship is Wang Yibo/Xiao Zhan, with his Untamed co-star Xiao Zhan. He is also shipped with the other members of UNIQ.
There is some interest in shipping him with his Day Day Up co-hosts, usually in the context of polyshipping. Some fans have developed the fanon that he is attracted to geges (big brother types).
