Fandom Biography

A comment at r/slashfanfiction post in September 2013:

I run Squidge.ORG, and post my stuff in the busiest archive, Peja's WWOMB. I also have my own LJ and crosspost to/from Dreamwidth. I'm either "Squidgie" (WWOMB/DW) or "SquidgiePDX" (LJ).

LONG, long time ago I started in X-Files with Mulder/Skinner & Mulder/Krycek. Then moved into The Sentinel and wrote Blair/Jim, Blair/Jim/Rafe, and one time a Jim/Rafe. That one was...nice. :)

Took a break from writing for almost 10 years, and only wrote 2 or 3 stories (Scrubs - JD/Dr Cox or JD/The Todd). And then I saw Sports Night.

For a while, Dan/Casey from Sports Night was my OTP. Then my bff (and no co-writer) trickled me into Stargate Atlantis with a few McShep (McKay/Sheppard) AU fics - and that got me hooked.

I'd have to say that my real OTP is McKay/Sheppard. However, I still write the occasional Dan/Casey from Sports Night, Parrish/Lorne (or even Parrish/Lorne/Dex) from Stargate Atlantis. I have to say my most popular fics (by hit count) are Steve/Danno from Hawaii Five-0; they're fun to write, but I don't write them enough. Ditto for Nick/Monroe from Grimm - although I don't think I've ever gotten out of a Nick/Monroe story without going NC17. There's just something about them...

There's a series of books & movies called The Donald Strachey Mysteries - and they're fun as hell to write, because the main couple is actually gay. Plus, you get to write case!fic, which I'm liking.

In the last few months I've written G/PG versions of Harold/John from Person of Interest. I can only see them in G/PG settings and can't really "sex them" up; I can see the loving, caring friendship there, but not physical...

So overall, I have to say McShep as my OTP.

EDIT: Forgot to list stories... Because I'm all about AU, they make up a large amount of the stories I save [...] on my iPad. sheafrotherdon's "Iowa 'verse" is probably at the top of the list - everyone knows it and everyone loves it. There's lesser known ones that I love, like "Event Horizon Books"[1] and "Mail Myself To You"[2] by incredible authors in the SGA realm. For Grimm, try "Hotel California"[3] and for Hawaii Five-0, you have to read the "Commander Octopus" series - but don't eat or drink while you read, or you may ruin a computer or choke to death when you start laughing! If you want recs in Don Strachey or Sports Night, let me know! They're older & more obscure fandoms.[4]
