Vivian Arney (11/14/60-2/12/22) was a fan who lived in Austin, Texas.

Among her activities, she published a newsletter for the local Star Trek club, which included articles and fanfic in whatever fandoms the members were interested in (not always Star Trek). She ran Tia's Pals Press and published a number of fanzines such as Merlin's Mixed Media Madness (multi), Who Knows (Doctor Who), and Mind Music (Tomorrow People).

Vivan wrote fic in many fandoms, including Zorro, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and The Wild Wild West. A number of her works are now available on AO3 as VivArney.

Vivian ran a number of listservs and Facebook groups on a wide variety of topics including recipes, paranormal activities, and fighting fraudulent phone calls. Legally blind herself, she ran a listserv to help blind people locate audio resources.

She encouraged friends with ideas to write, and was a kind and supportive editor.

She encouraged a local friend, Anne Collins Smith, to co-edit the The Wild Wild Loveless with her; they also co-edited a sequel, The Wild Wild Fanzine. After Smith moved away, Vivian edited a third issue, The Wild Wild Crossover.

She was married to Leah McGrew, another prolific fan writer. One of her special delights in life was infecting her nieces and nephews, and later her grandnieces and grandnephews, with the "reading bug."
