From the editor:

We had a real reaction to last months issue. Many people commented on the poor reproduction and suggested that we change printers. It really wasn't the printer's fault. However, we have eliminated our problem, so if this issue looks shabby, we may really change printers. It would also be nice if you, Mr. Printer, would get this on the press and stop reading it!

In answer to questions concerning our article on WAST, the word wast doesn't mean anything, Those are call letters, just like a commercial station.

No, stereo headphones will not work as well as high impedance. In fact, stereo headphones will not work at all. A " few " dollars is not twenty, but closer to five. Parts are available at any electronics store and at some hardware stores. To answer the most often asked question, no, we are not kidding.

Some of you also wrote asking for further details on the STAR TREK Convention. We have none. Information on hotel rates, guests, etc will not be available for several months. We will print it when we get it.

The answer to another question is (again) no, Al Shuster has not announced any plans for another New York Convention. All he talks about lately is his Philadelphia convention. He may not return to New York if Philadelphia receives him well (that's pure speculation and not fact).

Finally, we do hope to have a dealer's table at this year's convention. In fact, we would like two. It will take a lot of money, however. Cost is up to $85.00 per table. We may print one or two microscopic-size issues soon, in order to save money for the tables. If we do, it will be August and September. The size reduction will be for those months only, not permanent.

  • article about epilepsy
  • merchant report ("Several months ago, we began a study of ST retailers and merchants. Our purpose was to see if any were so dishonest or disorganized that they could not be of service to the fan, and then to compile a black list. Our official blacklist of persons to avoid has only two names. Albert Shuster: Our order (mailed many months ago } has not arrived. Numerous inquiries have been ignored. We have not been able to make any kind of contact with Mr. Shuster concerning or order. His poor business techniques also keep popping up in his work as chairman of the International STAR TREK Convention." The other fan was [Barbara W] who some fans did not enjoy the homemade Spock t-shirts she'd made: "She custom tailors Spock shirts. She says that she is really getting tired of doing it - we must say it shows.")
