Summary
After her husband’s death, Nathalie Sancoeur fell into deep despair. Determined to bring him back, she set her goal on obtaining the Black Cat and Ladybug miraculous, using the power of her own one. All her attempts for the last year, however, were futile. Should she remain careful? Or should she let it all burn, as her assistant Gabriel suggests she should? And is the goal even worth its price?

Another amazing fic, Mulligan! I love your writing style and even better are your character interactions, which are especially fun given the role reversals happening here. I adore the way you have portrayed Gabriel and Adrien’s relationship. It feels like them even though they’re both in much different positions. Nathalie’s realization that she’s in love with Gabriel was stunning. Their brief fight was heartbreaking and I was so relieved when Nathalie’s mask dropped and their love/concern for each other won out. Nathalie notices that. Her progressions become more complex, and her melodies — more ornamental. He follows her, listening to every change in her tone. It is his job, after all — catching her, when she falls. There’s sometimes hesitation, then he tooks it on himself to follow through.This part was precious.

Hurting, hurting, OH my gosh.... This entire thing is written so wonderfully, especially in how everybody fits so well into this universe!! None of the roles feel forced- they're all so specially catered to that one character, and everybody has their own space!!
