The first part of the series, (a LONG series BTW.) But definetly worth the read if you're into FanFic. I would rate the first part R for some heavy breathing at the end. *G*[2]

I started Offspring about two years ago thinking part three was the end. I am so glad that I was wrong. I started part four the moment it was posted, and was immediatly drawn into it by the symbolism portrayed through Lily. Her dream sequence is magnificent, a very creative literary mthod that Kelli quite often uses in her storys. I have loved Kelli's short stories, such as Freezing and The Sound of the Shell, but it has been her works like Spell and The Offspring which prove that she is a very able and excellent writing. I love to read, anything, and the first fan fiction I ever read was Kelli's Offspring, she hooked me, and now with its return, I think that The Offspring will reach that creative level that every writer, it doesn't matter what they write, strives to reach."X"
From when I talked to her, I found Kelli to have a big heart, which makes me even more passionate about her stories.[3]

In November of 1997, I read "The Offspring" by Kelli Rocherolle. I had heard about fanfiction, but I had never been on the internet before. When I got connected, I read this story at The Eurisko Archive. I'll never forget what it felt like to discover the endless possibilities of fanfic. I became addicted and read everything I could get my hands on. Because of Kelli Rocherolle, there will always be Lily before there ever was an Emily.[…]
It's strange, but even though I read fabulous new stories all of the time, I still can't recapture the feeling I got from reading those early discoveries.
Feeling nostalgic,
Julie :-)[4]

This is the first time I became obsessed with the idea of Mulder as "daddy." It has a happier ending than After All These Years (somewhat) so I think it's fair game.[5]

My Thoughts: I loved this story. I remember the beginning, but not part 3. It was an interesting story telling technique the way she ended it and I was pleased that the family was given the update on where they were.[6]
