The Hobbit RPF is a real person fiction fandom primarily centered around the actors in the Jackson movie trilogy.
Cast
The cast for the trilogy includes some returnees from the The Lord of the Rings: Andy Serkis, Bret McKenzie (Figwit), Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving, Jed Brophy, Ian McKellan, and Orlando Bloom.
Other cast members known to fandom include Martin Freeman (Sherlock (BBC)), Aidan Turner (Being Human), Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock (BBC)), Barry Humphries, Evangeline Lilly (Lost), Richard Armitage (Robin Hood (BBC 2006) and Spooks/MI5), Stephen Fry, Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who), and Lee Pace.
Several cast members became more widely known to fandom through these movies, including Dean O'Gorman, Graham McTavish, and Luke Evans.
Origins
The first Hobbit RPF works were posted during filming.[1]
Hobbit RPF is allowed on hobbit_kink, with a few more limitations compared to what's allowed for FPF.[2] The first RPF prompt was posted on December 20, 2012; it was a Richard Armitage/Lee Pace prompt.[3] Originally, RPF was posted directly alongside FPF, in the same prompt posts. The first separate RPF prompt post was made on January 28, 2013.[4]
