It's a wonderfully touching holiday fic that's just in time for Christmas. I have to say I got the rec from Jean Kluge at TSStoryfinders and thank goodness she mentioned it. I can't believe what people have been requesting there this month. Rape, torture, dark fic, Blair shot, Jim kidnapped by slavers and Blair targeted for revenge. Only one request for a story where Jim sings a Christmas carol! Yikes I was depressed just reading the requests. But this is a lovely story all by itself, even without having to take the burden of lightening the seemingly dark mood of the fandom! [1]
I really love stories where Jim actually has fun using his senses. "The Gift" is a holiday story from this past Chrismas season, and though it's short, it's packed with wonderful visuals and a beautiful, reciprocal gift.[2]
Oh My God - what a totally awesome story. You capture their voices perfectly and I adore the scenario you created that allow the characters - and us - to appreciate Jim's senses in such an open, beautiful way that you brought tears to my eyes and forced me to slow down my reading in order to savor the moment. People talked about this story on yesterday's Sentinel Chat, said how much they loved it, and it was one of the first stories mentioned about how well it described and expressed Jim's experience of his senses.
