The Flu Series is a series of Professionals slash stories co-written by Sebastian and HG.

The story sometimes appears on fans' Desert Island lists.[1] It is also a story on The 1985 Hatstand Express Top Ten Lists.

Flu is 17 pages, was written by Sebastian and was released as part of the paper circuit library. Flu 2 was co-written by Sebastian and HG and was also part of the paper circuit library.

Summaries

In 2000, two fans Cassie Ingaben and Dagger compiled an index of many of the circuit stories. They also wrote brief summaries:

Flu:

  • Dagger: After unknowingly being exposed to an experimental virus, Bodie and Doyle come down with the flu. Rather than suffer alone, they decide to suffer together.
  • Cassie: B&D get flu and decide to spend the weekend sick together. Sick and weak, they feel attracted, especially D, who initiates sex consciously after the first sleepy cuddling/petting. However, B is ambivalent, and as they feel better he gets back home to resume their normal routine--to D's bitter disappointment. Stricken himself, B promises that he won't forget, that maybe they will be sick together again.

Flu 2

  • Dagger: One week after the flu episode, during which they were on separate cases, Bodie and Doyle deal with the emotional aftermath of their actions.

Reactions/Reviews: One or Both Stories

Unknown Date

Got to have a rec for Sebastian in here somewhere. Maybe an odd choice to some, but my kink is a sick Bodie and/or Doyle, and here I get 'em both, at the same time, and in the same bed.[2]

1986

Another wonderful first-time story, with another one of those bittersweet endings that get to me so much. I read this one often.[3]
... a shorter but still enjoyable story and one that could very easily have been written as a straight story - even so, its mood and manner are excellent.[4]

1988

"Flue 2" is the story of a hopeful dinner at a fine restaurant, with a view to Doyle's ultimate seduction, and it is done provocatively with such an exquisite, elegant turn of phrase and fluidity of expression: as the evening progresses to its inevitable conclusion, the images evoked are sumptuous and lusciously erotic. [5]

2005

If you're reading Pros then you've probably already read Sebastian, and I suppose, if you're new, it would be easier for me to just tell you to read all of her stories. But this one is sweet -- has a content feel to it, and hot as well. Only Sebastian could make having the flu something desirable.[6]
There's a sequel, 'Flu 2' which is on the proslib disc, but not at either Circuit archive or Hatstand as yet. Although it's also a good story, personally, I like 'Flu' on its own. Even though the ending is ambiguous, it holds such promise for the two of them.[7]
Oh gawd, I love this story, still have my original hard copy from the old paper Circuit days. Such a lovely story.[8]
One of my favorites of hers. I do like "Flu 2," too, but this stands well alone.[9]

2007

No top ten list can be done, surely, without a Sebastian fic in it somewhere? Maybe an odd choice to some, but my kink is a sick Bodie and/or Doyle, and here I get 'em both, at the same time, and in the same bed!![10]
