The Basement is an X-Files slash archive running the Automated Archive software.
It joined the FEF April 09, 2001.
It was listed as a "X-Files badfic, all slash" site at Bad Fanfic! No Biscuit!.
In September 2016, it was announced that The Basement would be moving to the Archive of Our Own as an Open Doors Project. [1] The move was completed in July 2017.
It lists 474 works. Most of the works focus on Mulder/Krycek (217) and Mulder/Skinner (113) pairing slash stories.

- If you want X-Files fic you don't have to go any father than the basement. If you can`t find it through Down in the Basement I wish you happy hunting and much luck 'cause you'll need it.

- The main archive at DitB is the Basement where you will find one of the best archives you will find anywhere for any fandom. Searchable by pairing, size, date, author, title, rating is nice enough but the sheer amount of fic makes this site a must see. [2]
