I have a date of October 1, 1999, not 1998, being when this website began. --MPH (talk) 21:39, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

It could be a matter of confusion between Down in the Basement (DitB), which redirects here, and The Basement, the main archive of DitB. As far as I can see, the 1999 date refers to The Basement but DitB hosts several archives, The Basement is just one of them.
