Template talk:FanClub
Anime Club variation?
Originally, I thought this template would be fine for anime clubs, but three things jumped out at me once I began looking at the practical aspects of using the template. First, "leaders" makes little sense, as a large percentage of these clubs are associated with colleges or universities, so leadership often turns over annually. Second, there is no space for "affiliation", which is important since many clubs nowadays are affiliated with a sponsoring organization like a school or library, or with fansub groups, cons, etc. Third, clubs distinguish themselves from each other in part by their events and activities, but there is no clear place for those right now. Perhaps an "Anime Club" variation of this template could be made that removes "leaders", adds "affiliations" directly under "name", and replaces "focus" with "events/activities"? -the old briar pipe (talk) 21:58, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Done. Template:AnimeClub. How does it look? Should I remove the founder field as well?--æþel (talk) 02:49, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- <3333! Some clubs do seem to keep historical information like founders and such, so I think that should be fine? We'll see what people say once they start using it. I'll try to make a couple of example pages in the near future.
- Thank you soooo much for your cheerful help with all this housekeeping. It's really setting up the wiki to be easier and more inviting for folks from different types of fandoms. -the old briar pipe (talk) 04:03, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
