Some topics that I think were big enough be included in this article (either by myself or another author):

- Overlap and interaction with the ice skating fandom, especially the reception by the professional skating community (most notably Johnny Weir, Evgenia Medvedeva and Joe Johnson), and it might be worth mentioning the Yuzuru Hanyu wikipedia page issue

- Crunchyroll anime awards (and the ensuing kickback)

- This post: http://yurionbottom.tumblr.com/post/156558100966/history-of-the-yuri-on-ice-fandom

- Was it a kiss or a hug? Different reactions from Japanese and international viewers and the search for confirmation (https://twitter.com/aki_the_geek/status/814174388966682625?lang=gl)

- Themes and memes in the fandom: Yurio's love of cats, Chris's butt, dub vs. sub (and Victor as Gru), Yuuri purchasing one ring or two

The above link for the history of the fandom isn't working, but I happened across the same post so, http://yoimeta.tumblr.com/post/156585747369/history-of-the-yuri-on-ice-fandom. Fitzaby (talk) 12:15, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Suggestions

Suggestions for would-be editors who aren't sure where to start; this page could use (not limited to these topics):

  • Common tropes in fanfic and fanart
  • Fannish reactions to the characters - their descriptions are canon-heavy instead of focused on fanon. Canon details don't need to go away, but we'd love to see more discussion of them in fandom
  • Examples of cosplay and other non-fic, non-art fanworks
  • Examples of fannish activity - Big Bangs, fic exchanges, character blogs on tumblr if any, etc.
  • More about the differences between Japanese and US fandoms
  • Pages for any of the characters or ships
