Rename and rewrite discussion
- I was going to redirect Xeno to this page, but I'm in two minds. I often see these works tagged as xeno or xenophilia. While alien kink focuses entirely on works featuring alien genitalia or sex with aliens, Xenophilia works can be a bit broader. They don't necessarily focus on sex between a humanoid character and a non humanoid, although theres a lot of that too. And so I think xenokink is a variation of xeno works.
- So, I'm wondering, a) should this page be renamed xeno or xenophilia? and b) should it be rewritten so there's a general intro with a section specifically on xenokink below that?? I know that most of the page would still be about the kink, but I think it would be clearer--Auntags (talk) 14:22, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about page organization/sections, but I think Xeno is the right page name, not Xenokink or Xenophilia — I see "xeno" used in casual conversation much more often and it's the broadest term. Adding -kink at the end has a different connotation from adding -philia, but both could and are still referred to as just "xeno" in my experience. - Hoopla (talk) 15:36, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- Moved Xenokink to Xeno. I agree 100% with what Hoopla said, and its also the parent tag for these works on Ao3 (not that Ao3 tags should determine what we name pages here). Also edited the page like I'd suggested above, and added info about the Tumblr purge. --Auntags (talk) 17:39, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
