Character group infobox

I recently talked to User:Fandomgeographies on Discord (in an unofficial, two friends talkin about a website way) about creating some kind of platonic, general info box that could be used for Naruto clans, the Weasley Family, alien races like the Goa'uld, etc. October is Uchiha Month, though, and I really wanted to do some fannish stuff for it including finally making a Fanlore page! So I used inspect element to make an infobox. I'm... not entirely sure that that's allowed, but I didn't see anything saying I couldn't do it? So here it is. Maybe to be implemented site-wide it would need different categories or be called something else, and I promise not to start using it all over the place. Thanks! I think something to consider is if a show/hide button that's set to "hide" (or could be set that way on a case to case basis by editors, maybe?) could be useful for the member list because I think there are lots of articles where it'd get overly long very quickly. This for example is just a very conservative amount of Uchihas linked because only one of them has a page anyway,but even just counting the pages that Weasley Family already has, there are 19 Weasleys they could go in the member box, 9 of them who would definitely need to be there (Molly, Arthur, and 7 kids). So... some kind of different formatting there would be nice, probably? Even smaller text or two columns would be a space saver. - Hoopla (talk) 22:20, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

So, I just came back to this because I had thought we did implement a Character Group infobox and was trying to find it, and then I realised that we never concluded this discussion, I'm so sorry! >o< Recently though we've taken to adding infoboxes ad hoc whenever they're needed (the Game Mod infobox is a recent new one), so I would say that you can go ahead and create this as a proper infobox, Hoopla, if you're still inclined to! Or I can make it, if you'd prefer.

One thing I did think about the Members field is that while it makes sense for things like clans, families, etc. it might become less practical if we also want to use this for races like the Goa'uld as you suggest above, or say, the race of elves from Lord of the Rings, where even trying to list every member becomes quite difficult, let alone displaying them in the infobox. Maybe we could specify that this is recommended for smaller groups? But I'm open to thoughts. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 12:30, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
