Talk:Transfic
Is there a term for this that includes fanart?
I've got some discussion that I'd like to add but a lot of it is about fanart and headcanons, too. Per the conversation on fic privilege the trend seems to be to remove the "fic" part, but I don't think having a page just titled "trans" would work, plus I do think "transfic" as a term probably has value separate from related subjects. I'll start working in the stuff I've found, but maybe the main controversy/debate discussion can go on like... Trans Headcanons or something? = Hoopla (talk) 14:27, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
- "Trans Characters in Fandom" could work as an "umbrella topic" page name. There's definitely related issues that could be covered, such as discourse over certain "types" of characters that are more commonly headcanoned as trans (skinny "uke" men for example), or trends regarding fandom treatment of/reaction to canonically-trans characters (Ned Wynert for example). "Earliest Date"
What are we defining as transfic to determine this earliest date? Surely there are earlier examples not identified by name on older sites?
Anyway, my discovery of the TransSlash mailing list pushes the timeline earlier regardless, but unfortunately lacks an archive. Sobqjmv sphinx (talk) 23:30, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
