Is there a rationale for the deletion of all the fanfic on this page: http://fanlore.org/w/index.php?title=Derek/Stiles&curid=73531&diff=440937&oldid=419662 We normally leave a note/explanation when making such a drastic edit.--MeeDee (talk) 18:21, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

As an added note, we should revert the changes back tomorrow unless we hear otherwise. The only edits the editor has made (to date) have been mass deletions of story recs without explanation; however hopefully they'll pop back in and start adding content.--MeeDee (talk) 04:24, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
It's possible the list was just getting too long, but still a rationale for the selection would be good. Until we have pages about individual Teen Wolf stories (and we don't yet), I am reluctant to start culling links from the main page. I reverted the page, but here are the fics at issue so we can remove again if necessary:

The ETA from You to Me and Reasonable to Assume I see recced and mentioned a lot, so I don't know why they were removed, but I haven't heard much about the others, so I don't have an opinion on them either way. We might want to limit stories to one per author and then use the author page to mention the other stories. unexplained deletions

Two fanwork examples were deleted without explanation. One was very unusual for Teen Wolf fandom -- a print book.--æþel (talk) 23:22, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Since it has been two weeks since the deletion and no explanation offered, I'd suggest the edits be restored after leaving a note on the Users Talk page. She may not be aware of needing to add comments when deleting material. Also, could someone familiar with the fandom look at these other deletions? OK, deletions restored. I will create a page for The Sterek Book. A few of the deletions pointed to dead links, and I think it would be a good idea to weed for diversity of authors, but we'll need to create pages about those authors first. Example Fanworks

The list of fanfic is getting kind of long and unwieldy. . . might it make sense to break it up somehow? Maybe separating canon-based versus au stories, or (since it's already in chronological order) breaking it up by what seasons of the show had aired? That list is excessively long. I think a better approach would be to link to rec lists and master lists and cull this list. I suggest: only one fic per author (put the rest on the author page), each fic an example of a different trope or era or characterization, with that explanation instead of/in addition to the author summaries, which are not always useful. --æþel (talk) 19:31, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
I think the answer is to make separate pages for the fics and only link a subset here with an explanation for why they stand out. I started one page and then lost steam....--æþel (talk) 21:57, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
Ha, yeah, I made a page for one fic a few days ago and then came back today to pick another to make a page for, then discovered that like a dozen new fics had been added to the list! At which point I commented here. Looking at the list, it seems like. . . five fics have their own pages already? Would it be bad form to cut all the fics that don't have pages for now, just so the page is easier to scroll, and put the list of cut stories here on the talk page so that people can make individual pages for them (or individual author pages, for authors that have multiple stories on the list) and only then add them back to the main page? --PhoenixFalls (talk) 22:38, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
