Talk:Receiver
When I ran the Japanese text through google translate, it read "Uke"--if this just a translation of the Japanese word Uke, then how can it be a separate term from Uke? If the only difference is that the Uke page focuses on how English fandom uses the term, the pages could be merged, but with separate sections to explain the different uses in different communities.--aethel (talk) 04:33, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- aethel I agree it should be merged. To Japanese-speaking fans, receiver = uke and there is no difference, same with attacker = seme. I talked about it with Potpotkettle on Talk:Attacker. I think uke would be more understandable for English speakers, (I don't mind the language "attacker" and "receiver" , but I know people see "attacker" and are like ?????) I wasn't so sure if seme should be considered its own term to ENG fandom or not, and maybe I just wanted the name "Receiver" since most people see "uke" and think they're all guys, but its not, and the distinction may make archiving Het/NL doujinshi easier. But merging would be best, if only to make the uke page have less potential misinformation regarding who can be classified as a "uke." --Cavewomania (talk) 06:01, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

I've finally put all the info from this page onto uke. I should've done this a long time ago... So it would be best if all links to this page went to that one instead. --Cavewomania (talk) 10:48, 10 January 2025 (UTC)--Cavewomania (talk) 10:09, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
