Talk:Pokémon Companion AU

Page Name

After discussion on Discord, a group of us editors agreed on Pokemon Companion AU (other options considered: "Pokemon headcanon", "Pokemon companion headcanon", "Pokemon companion trend, "Pokemon AU"). Several editors brought up Pokemon AU as a term commonly used by fans for assigning pokemon to characters from other fandoms, but other editors felt that this term would be confused with AUs in which characters from other fandoms are themselves pokemon. This is what we settled on as the clearest term. -- Quaelegit (talk) 08:36, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

Separate but related trend: pokemon gijinka

E.g. this from 2016, i saw a bunch of them while looking for examples for this page. should probably talk about it on Pokemon in teh fandom section, but maybe it deserves a mention here or on the disambig page. -- Quaelegit (talk) 06:58, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

I might be worth making a separate page for that if it is popular -- Kingstoken (talk) 09:08, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
