Japanese Fandom
I've heard through the grapevine that Mineta is super popular in Japan, but I don't know where to begin looking for sources for that, and my Japanese is too rusty to find decent quotes. The fact that antis are so willing to change the conventionally ‘good-looking’ perverted characters like Kaminari and Midnight into non-perverts but not Mineta just goes to show how shallow they are honestly. I legit saw an anti call out another anti for liking Midnight, who they said was a pedophile. But then the anti who was being called out said they were talking about ‘fanon’ Midnight where she’s not, and the anti who was calling them out then became okay with it. Like????? What?? The second you draw or write about Mineta doing something wholesome or interacting with the girls nicely antis are up in arms, saying things like ‘he’s a pervert they’d never go near him, he’d never act like this’ but if you draw or write Midnight differently it’s completely okay. - I anonymized this quote because I was asked to do so (via Discord) and losing the username/source attached was no big loss because the original post was already deleted, which is why the posting date is unknown. However, I removed the original poster's username as a courtesy, not because I actually believe they deserve to control whether their words are on the page and in what form.
- I object strongly to having this quote and the second reference tag it was using being removed, though I appreciate Dmala's further additions to the page. WI am friends with the person who is the creator of this quote and they want it removed. I made an account just for this purpose to help them out. Despite it being posted publicly the original post was obviously deleted for a reason. Just because something is on the internet doesn’t mean it is free use. Especially when the person themselves does not want their work to be used without their permission. Me and the creator of the quote don’t believe that the quote is that important to the wiki page either. I am also the person in the cosplay photo that was removed as well, and don’t appreciate my work being used without my permission either. Some people just don’t appreciate their work being reposted on other platforms and not being asked at all. It can honestly lead to legal trouble. You can feel free to contact me on discord and we can talk quicker there.
