Do we want a glossary page for Adjacent Pairing or Adjacent Ship? Did the use of "adjacent" start with Kylux? I found a few other ships like this in AO3 tags, but not many: DinCobb Adjacent (also Star Wars), Immortal Husbands Adjacent and Joe x Nicky adjacent ship (The Old Guard). Googling adjacent pairing and adjacent ship got me a lot of non-fannish results, so I'm not sure how to research this without already knowing which ships use this terminology.

There are other terms for this type of ship, like [shipname] derivatives for cdrama fandoms, and I put what I found so far over here: Crossover_Pairing#Actor-based_crossover_pairings--aethel (talk) 00:19, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

I think that would be a good idea. There was also discussion on the Kylux talk page about adjacent ships, and some of that information made its way to the main Kylux page. That page also seems to answer your question - the term adjacent ship did start with Kylux, but it was cropping up in other fandoms almost simultaneously, but it was still rare outside Kylux in 2018--Auntags (talk) 19:19, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
I've started a page tentatively titled "Sister Ship", covering related ships. — PictoChatCyberBully (talk) 21:16, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
I went ahead and created the Adjacent Ship page, because I spotted that tag wranglers are canonising these tags as character combinations, and it pinged my memory about this talk page. Feel free to add all of the examples --Auntags (talk) 22:45, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
