Should this be a subpage of Stargate Atlantis, i.e. Stargate Atlantis/Challenges? Current practice is to put lists of various sorts in subpages.--æthel 04:55, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree, as a list this should be a subpage of Stargate Atlantis, but I don't think this is enough content to justify it's own subpage (there are too many subpages there already and many of them shouldn't be subpages. Fan Films for example is such a stubby stub with just one example that it should be part of the main page, Lantea and Sentient Atlantis should be either top level pages like Vulcan and Ancient Vulcan or go to a SGA glossary subpage, Season 1, Season 2, Season 4 shouldn't be there to begin with because other pages have shown that there are better ways to structure it than the wikipedia format that focuses so much on canon, the whole trend thing should have it's own fanwork top level page or be a subpage of the author, complete with quotation template to mark the text as something that shouldn't be changed, then people could quote whatever they think relevant for the SGA pairing pages or SGA main page, etc. Hmm, I think by now we have enough experience with complex pages that we could fix that mess... *ponders*) and I would suggest moving it to a subpage Stargate Atlantis/Resources where it would be just one section among other sections like websites, primers, etc. or flesh it out and make it a part of the main SGA page. All challenges have their own pages anyway (or should have) and the sga_flashfic challenges should all go to sga_flashfic. --Doro 06:50, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
IMO Sentinent Atlantis should become a top level trope page, like Profiler!Mulder or the ATA Gene (Stargate). It's a clear trope with a community (albeit not that active), a thematic list with many examples, it waxed and vaned in popularity in fanon, and while I unfortunately can't find the link now, I vaguely remember reading at least one rant by someone who hated the trope. I think Lantea does not deserve its own subpage, and should redirect somewhere, maybe a glossary. More problematic do I find the SGA subpage for "Runner". I mean, that does have stuff about SGA fanfic on it, more than the Sentient Atlantis page currently, but it is not a clear trope to me somehow, so I would rather put the term on a glossary than giving it a trope page. And I agree on the Season pages, which do not have much stuff on them anyway, and that unfortunate "Trends" experiment. I think the whole aspect of SGA fanfic documentation would do better overhauled. However the thing was such a mess to begin with (and I don't mean just the organization but the disagreements on how to document and such) that it lead to the SGA pages being very active for a short time, and then very dead for a long time, so I'm really wary of that page.--RatCreature 07:27, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
ETA: Also I think the challenge communities could just become a subsection on the existing List and Communities subpage, that needs to be reformatted to include internal wikilinks to the comms as well. And the specific flashfic challenges should go on the SGA Flashfic page.--RatCreature 07:52, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm a bit scared of that page too. ^^° It's like if you look at it the wrong way, it will bite you. However, I think we can at least improve it by untangling some of the threads that tied it in such a knot. I see that you already started with the communities and I agree that challenges as a subsection there would work. :) I think I'm courageous today and will add an attention gardeners template to the sentient Atlantis page. Moving that one should be simple enough because there is clear precedent for having it as a top level page. --Doro 10:54, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
What was that wikipedia slogan, Be Bold? That would be needed to tackle that mess, even though we are not wikipedia. *hides* But yeah I formatted a couple of sections of the comm list, but it is so tedious to add all the brackets to make it more legible with the links, so I stopped after a bit, and decided to spread the boredom out and add more later.--RatCreature 11:08, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
