Please discuss on this talk page the removal of "apparent misogyny in some of her works (specially the Tangled Destinies series Week Three: Commented Fics )" --MPH (talk) 01:53, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- A horrible accusation by one fan regarding a single work, almost ten years ago. I don't understand why it needs to be on her page. I have not seen any other fan page with such a prominent and damaging accusation. Timepiece (talk) 14:40, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- Fanlore have a Plural Point of View policy, which means that differing opinions are equally worthy of documentation. If you disagree with an opinion, it would be more constructive to include an example of an alternative fan opinion. There are a large number of fan pages on Fanlore that list controversies involving those fans, and many of those pages include alternative reactions or interpretations of the controversy. So I would recommend that we keep the bit about apparent misogyny and you can add a sentence about why some fans disagree with that interpretation.
- I would also add that deleting opinions that you personally disagree with is an examples of hostile editing as per Fanlore's Hostile Editing poliicy. Repeated instances of hostile editing can result in a warning or suspension from Fanlore. --Auntags (talk) 23:30, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- Deleting information about controversies from certain pages is something to ask first, I don't know the author but I believe that this topic should be addressed, regardless of our personal judgments. Here we edit unilaterally without choosing sides, covering all subjects. There will of course be information that we can disagree with, but the best way is always dialogue not the deliberate removal of certain passages. Imagine a fan of a racist author, who came here on the site to delete all the information that this author committed such acts. It would be offensive to those who are unaware of the reality of things, don't you think? I really enjoyed your latest edits Timepiece, but I agree with Auntags about using PPOV on Fanlore. I myself have already found information that I disliked, but I understood their importance as I edited them over the months. I hope you understand too -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 07:53, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
