Talk:Harry/Ginny
This ship is apparently also called "87" (at least that's linked here in that HP fanhistory filk), but it isn't mentioned here and I have no clue why it's called that. Could someone who knows add a line?--RatCreature 09:55, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Word on the street is that it's called "87" because 'H' is the 8th letter of the alphabet and 'G' is the 7th (like H/G, gettit?). But I'd never heard of that either, so I linked it here for now and was going to do some more research before actually writing anything :) ~ Sparcicle 10:05, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ah. My first guess was that it might be b/c Ginny is the 7th Weasley kid and Harry like the honorary 8th Weasley, but then I remembered that H/G shippers don't angle for making their ship like fake-cest, lol.--RatCreature 10:25, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I stumbled upon some further info regarding "87" which suggests it's not in fact a H/G reference. Apparently there was a Sugar Quill "secret" behind it that people tried to guess but I don't think was ever revealed. (This makes sense in the context of the filk because it was written by one of the Sugar Quill founders.) It doesn't seem to relate to H/G however, because the community motto mentions "valiantly defend[ing] the Good Ship R/H from any sort of attack" but has no mention of H/G. So I'll go ahead and remove the link from the filk and make a note of my findings on its page. ~ Sparcicle 17:35, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
