Talk:GoGo Tomago

To anyone who previously contributed to this page, I moved your contributions to a page titled with the correct spelling of the character's name. I unfortunately do not know how to transfer records of contributions and I apologize for that. Thank you very much for your help! 21:25, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Good catch on the spelling. 🙂 Thanks.
Advanced editors are allowed to move a page to a new title, keeping the history records of contributions. Is it agreeable for the old page to be moved? — PictoChatCyberBully (talk) 06:59, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Yes, thanks for catching the spelling error! I wish I'd seen this talk page before I added more links and stuff in November, because I'm not sure how to combine the page histories now. I'll flag this as Template:AttentionGardeners for help (and User:NinthFeather, in the future that's the better way to move a page to new title). -- Quaelegit (talk) 06:58, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn't know and couldn't find information about it when I looked. Sorry for the extra trouble, but I really appreciate your help! -

Hi, sorry it took so long to pick this up. We want to move the edit history from GoGo Tamago to GoGo Tomago, is that correct? If we do this we will lose all edits to the GoGo Tomago page since it was created. We will be essentially overwriting it with the full edit history of the previous page. Are there any objections to that move? --Auntags (talk) 18:07, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
I'm not feeling comfortable with the idea of overwriting (and thereby losing, if I get this right) a page's history. Fanlore has always made a point of preserving those and I think that's the right way. I'm sorry, but I'm seriously against the move and feel we just have to live with the situation until we find a way to combine the histories and create the usual '(editor) moved page (a) to (b): (reason)' entry for the original page's history section.
It's not an ideal situation, but I trust there'll be a solution sooner or later. SecurityBreach (talk) 06:14, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Oh dear, scratch that, please. I just found the 'merge histories' option which I guess you were planning to use. But why would it overwrite all new edits? I'm sorry, I still don't like the idea. SecurityBreach (talk) 06:50, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Sorry I'm only picking this back up now. I haven't come across the merge histories option before, so I'll look into that! Thanks! --Auntags (talk) 23:03, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
