Talk:Fandomnews

I don't think I should edit this page beyond my vanity correction, since I'm quoted as a cite, but I'm wondering about adding this line from the profile: "Please note that inclusion or non-inclusion in [community profile] fandomnews does not equal inclusion, or non-inclusion, in the Fan History wiki." and mentioning the other editors of the wiki. I personally think the appreciation of the presentation and format of the newsletter is very widespread, and I see the multiple cites for that, but I'd be inclined to weight that as Many fans appreciate... Just my thoughts on the page, and whatever the community does with it, is of course fine with me. --facetofcathy 15:55, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I want to commend those who are able to edit this, and other LH/FH pages, with deft and capable hands. I personally need to stay away due to bias on my part as it would be difficult for me to play nice... Mrs. Potato Head 16:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not really sure I understand what you want to have changed. I don't really know much about the newsletter, I mostly created this b/c I thought it ought to have a page separate from the wiki article where it was put before. I mostly added the links to the quotes because to me it seemed the newsletter was a more widely appreciated project by many than the wiki, even with issues with link selection that may exist. I mean, I've heard complaints about linking and not linking and content selection in one way or another about metafandom as well as about linkspam too, so fandomnews is hardly alone in that, controversial founder and wank magnet or not.--RatCreature 16:47, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I agree that a page separate from the wiki page is a very good idea. I was mostly concerned that the page could lead someone who was unaware of the newsletter to believe that it is more directly related to the wiki and to L.H. personally than it seems to be at this time. I don't have any special knowledge at all, I just think clarity is important here. Mentioning the other editors and their linking policies would make it very clear that there is more than one hand at work. Mentioning criticism is very much valid here, or on the metafandom page or anywhere else, absolutely. --facetofcathy 17:10, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

"many" is misleading

I should have checked while it was still active, but the number of watchers for this comm is pretty small: 31 members on LJ. 28 on DW. 4 on IJ.--æþel (talk) 16:00, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
