I have a very fuzzy recollection of someone on Livejournal making a post that cites the Beckett quote and goes on to detail how they apply the Fail Better idea to dealing with privilege. This was either made during Racefail '09, or was referenced then. I know the phrase caught on then. If anybody can find that source, I think that's the origin of the fandom usage of the term. --facetofcathy 13:41, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

I didn't think so, because it was contextualised in phrasing as "...fail better.", i.e. part of the sentence. There is only one quote on the page which treats it as a proper noun, and in that case, it's a heading. --awils1 15:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

It shouldn't matter if it's a proper noun. According to the capitalization policy, it should be capitalized unless the phrase has a different established capitalization pattern, like bell hooks or eXistenZ. See My Thoughts on Yaoi.--æthel 16:45, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
