Are those Example Pairings just random enemies who, if slashed, would be enemyslash, or actual slash pairings? I don't think I've seen Batman/Joker outside of a few exercises in stuntwriting. --Betty 02:11, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Maybe I should have specified that that's "The Dark Knight" fandom-specific? -- Liviapenn 02:17, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Isn't this an example of slash-bias? If there's a hatesex page, then surely the "enemy het" list should go there, with just a cross-reference on this page (and vice versa)? --Greer Watson 10:28, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

I just set up a page for hatesex, so I'll move the list over :) --Awils1 10:46, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
: There's hatesex, yeah, but I have also been wondering if dark het isn't its own genre. You know, the old beauty and the beast type of thing--Sarah/Jareth, Phantom/Christine, Dracula/Mina thing. Hell, I'm sure some people shipped Hades/Persephone way back when. Isn't there a page for that kind of thing? Or a name for it? I've just always called it 'dark het' or 'darkhet' myself. I don't want to be a pretentious arse and just make a page for it myself, however, so I was wondering if there was a term for that. It's extra complicated since romance in and of itself often involves the heroine falling in love with a guy who's somewhat dark, but all I see is fanboys or moral guardians whining about this 'Draco In Leather Pants' thing whereas there are genuine (and feminist) reasons for why that sort of shippage exists. (Especially since the guy isn't usually your typical patriarchal jock prince charming type, but often an outsider and even a little queer and so on.) Tanith Lee said, in her preface to Women as Demons, that she needn't even elaborate on the sexual liberation someone like Dracula represented because there'd already been so much feminist talk on that. But where's the actual term for that type of shippage? --Snowgrouse (talk) 02:50, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
I think a darkhet page sounds good to me. You can add your description above to it. We can link it to related pages, and hopefully other fans will add more to it. Should we go with Darkhet or Dark Het as a title, with a redirect for the one we don't choose? P.S. I'm really glad you're editing things here at Fanlore, Snowgrouse. --MPH (talk) 12:56, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Would some professional sports fandom pairings fall under the scope of this page? I'm only tangentially aware of what happens in that part of the slash world, but it seems to me Tennis RPF pairings like Federer/Roddick, Federer/Nadal, Djokovic/Murray, etc. would fit here, as they're based on the two players competing against each other, as would cross-team pairings like Sidney Crosbey/Alexander Ovechkin in Hockey RPF. --PhoenixFalls (talk) 23:21, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
