The information before the Fandom section seems to be about child marriage in real life, which isn't a fannish topic. It looks like this wants to be a trope page? Which I didn't think was a very popular fannish trope, but AO3 is down so I can't check. Or is the issue that different ages of consent across time and in different countries caused wank about whether someone's fanfiction was depicting child marriage or not?--aethel (talk) 00:34, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

The real life stuff is probably not needed and can be removed. I have rarely ever come across child marriage as a trope, I have read a few fics where two characters are betrothed as children and then marry later on when they are adults or teenagers, although that doesn't mean the trope does not exist in specific fandoms -- Kingstoken (talk) 00:56, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

Sounds like a subtrope of arranged marriage or forced marriage to me. This is what I found when I searched for the term on Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/search?work_search%5Bquery%5D=child+marriage. So I'm not sure if this is really a trope in its own right.
