Talk:Boku no Hero Academia

I think this should have less canon-overview info, or at least, that it should be focused on the fannish perspective rather than the raw details. Also not sure about listing all the characters - we could just list a few of them and have a link to Boku no Hero Academia Characters instead of filling the page with that. Same with the ships - mention the powerhouse ships and give a link to the category page.

I'd rather the page talked about trends in fandom (Discord communities, zines, themed weeks, endless anti-shipping drama about which characters are allowed to be paired) than spending so much of the page on canon. However, I'm aware that'd be a major restructuring. Also, the page hints at info which has now been confirmed canon in the comics but is still unknown for anime-only fans; do we have an easy way to add a "spoilers" warning? - Elf (talk) 03:51, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

RE:characters -- I like seeing the characters grouped by their role in the story (Class 1-A, pro heroes, villains, etc), we don't get that from the Categories page (even if we made subcategories, which i don't think we have enough character pages existing on the wiki to be worth considering this). We could split it out as a separate page though. Same with listing ships (I actually started making a BNHA shipping page like the RWBY one, but formatting tables was too much effort).

RE: more fandom, sounds good to me, though i'm not sure how much I can help because I try to avoid the shipping and other fandom wars for my own piece of mind. Similarly to the shipping and character suggestions, I was thinking of splitting the "common tropes" section off into it's own page, because I actually do have a lot to say about common fanfic tropes.

RE: spoilers -- we do have a Spoilers Template, but it doesn't have a lot of flexibility. Though at the very least we can use the template on this and other BNHA pages to warn people at the top whether they discuss manga details that are still spoilers for anime-onlies. Update -- okay I went ahead and made List of BNHA Ship Names b/c that was easy to do and seemed like the obviously good idea among everything I suggested. It's only got a few ships on there so far, b/c I find filling out and formatting Wiki tables quite tiresome. Would very much appreciate people porting the ship information from this page (the main fandom page) to that one (the ships list), but also I'm probably gonna try to automate pulling info from The Shipping Wiki later this week so no rush.
